About me

I trained as a Social Worker in 1991 and after many years working in health and social care agencies in Dublin and Galway, I decided to become self-employed in 2022. I am based in Kinvara, South Galway close to the Burren. I have experience working in child protection and foster care, community work, family support and intellectual disability. I have worked in the regulation of social care services with HIQA, and also as a tutor on the Social Work training course at the University of Galway. I hold two masters degrees, one in Social Work Research, and another in Health Services Management. I am registered with CORU as a Social Worker, and I am a trained mediator and a member of the Mediator Institute of Ireland (MII). I am available to undertake a variety of work on an hourly, sessional, part time or project basis. I have professional indemnity insurance cover in place.
